Project Manager – Value Logistics

Purpose of the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering projects through a hands-on approach, ensuring full understanding of project scope and alignment with operational requirements. The role focuses on achieving defined outcomes within agreed timelines, supporting the objectives of the Logistics division and associated business units.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, including operational and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate closely with IT and operational teams to ensure successful project execution

  • Deliver measurable business outcomes using structured project management methodologies

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines

  • Estimate project durations and resource requirements accurately

  • Apply recognised project management frameworks and best practices

  • Assign roles and responsibilities to project team members

  • Monitor project progress and report on status, risks, and milestones

  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders and escalate potential issues proactively

  • Ensure all project tasks are completed on time and agreed outcomes are achieved

  • Manage project administration, including meeting schedules, agendas, minutes, action items, and distribution

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure accurate record keeping

Project-Related Analysis and Execution

  • Conduct operational and business analysis to support project objectives

  • Analyse and evaluate existing business and operational processes

  • Gather, document, and validate business requirements

  • Record and document analysis outcomes and project findings

  • Prepare reports and present findings to relevant stakeholders

  • Develop process documentation, workflows, and solution-oriented process flows

  • Conduct research to support project application and implementation

General Responsibilities

  • Perform general administrative duties related to project delivery

  • Maintain effective organisation and professional standards

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management (advantageous)

  • PMI certification preferred (CAPM or PMP)

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management

  • High level of computer literacy

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Reporting and presentation skills

  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
