Introduction
Clicks Group Careers is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead the dispensary and clinic operations, ensuring service excellence and the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care. This role is responsible for achieving sales and compliance targets while building a sustainable competitive advantage for the brand through strong leadership and operational excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
Job Objectives
Pharmaceutical Care & Compliance
- Deliver high standards of pharmaceutical care, including accurate and safe dispensing, generic substitution, and professional counselling in line with company standards, Good Pharmacy Practice, and the legal scope of practice governed by South African Pharmacy Council.
- Ensure ethical practice and full regulatory compliance across all dispensary activities.
Operational Management
- Manage and control all dispensary operations, including stock management, shrinkage control, housekeeping, and administration in line with merchandising standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain consistent operational standards that support safe, efficient service delivery.
Financial Performance & Viability
- Ensure the financial sustainability of the dispensary through effective expense management, achievement of clinic and dispensary targets, and proactive performance interventions.
- Analyse performance data and implement actions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
People Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and lead a competent, motivated team, including learners and interns, through effective recruitment, leadership, coaching, and continuous development.
- Create a talent pipeline to meet current and future business needs.
Workforce Planning & Administration
- Plan and manage staffing in line with labour policies and workforce models to ensure appropriate coverage across departments.
- Ensure accurate weekly time and attendance records and submission of complete employee documentation to HR.
Customer Experience & Loyalty
- Lead customer service initiatives in the dispensary to deliver exceptional patient experiences, drive customer loyalty, and achieve ClubCard participation targets.
Integrated Healthcare Delivery
- Drive strong collaboration between the pharmacy, clinic, healthcare aisle, and store operations to deliver a seamless, end-to-end healthcare offering to customers.
