Job Overview

The Financial Analyst plays a key role in providing financial and commercial insights to support strategic decision-making. This role focuses on financial analysis, performance evaluation, reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis

  • Analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to assess performance

  • Perform variance analysis by comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts

  • Develop financial models to support strategic and operational decisions

  • Evaluate departmental financial performance and identify trends, risks, and anomalies

  • Assess return on investment for business initiatives

  • Investigate variances across systems and products and implement corrective actions

Commercial Analysis

  • Analyse market conditions, industry trends, and competitor performance

  • Review and prepare financial viability assessments for strategic initiatives

  • Evaluate project costs and proposed spending in line with accounting standards

Reporting

  • Prepare detailed and accurate financial reports for senior management

  • Present insights and recommendations in a clear, concise, and actionable manner

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and performance metrics

Business Support

  • Collaborate closely with various departments to gather financial data and insights

  • Review business processes to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement areas

  • Support cross-functional teams with financial and commercial analysis

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

  • Professional qualifications such as CA or CFA are advantageous

  • 3–5 years’ experience in financial analysis, data analysis, or a related role

Required Knowledge and Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and data analysis

  • Experience with financial systems and business intelligence tools such as Power BI and SQL

  • Ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable business insights

  • High level of accuracy in financial analysis and reporting

  • Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial viability principles

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
