Job Overview
The Financial Analyst plays a key role in providing financial and commercial insights to support strategic decision-making. This role focuses on financial analysis, performance evaluation, reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis

Analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to assess performance

Perform variance analysis by comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts

Develop financial models to support strategic and operational decisions

Evaluate departmental financial performance and identify trends, risks, and anomalies

Assess return on investment for business initiatives

Investigate variances across systems and products and implement corrective actions
Commercial Analysis

Analyse market conditions, industry trends, and competitor performance

Review and prepare financial viability assessments for strategic initiatives

Evaluate project costs and proposed spending in line with accounting standards
Reporting

Prepare detailed and accurate financial reports for senior management

Present insights and recommendations in a clear, concise, and actionable manner

Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and performance metrics
Business Support

Collaborate closely with various departments to gather financial data and insights

Review business processes to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement areas

Support cross-functional teams with financial and commercial analysis
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
-
Professional qualifications such as CA or CFA are advantageous
-
3–5 years’ experience in financial analysis, data analysis, or a related role
Required Knowledge and Technical Skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Strong proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and data analysis

Experience with financial systems and business intelligence tools such as Power BI and SQL
-
Ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable business insights

High level of accuracy in financial analysis and reporting

Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial viability principles

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
