HR Business Partner – Operations

Frank Consult is seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Partner – Operations to provide a comprehensive, business-aligned human resource function across their operational entities. This strategic and hands-on role plays a vital part in implementing HR strategies, policies, and initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, workforce effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate closely with operations leadership to align HR practices with business objectives, foster a high-performance culture, and boost employee engagement. This role also includes full payroll oversight, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all compensation processes.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources:

  • Partner with operational business units to align HR strategies with organizational goals.
  • Manage the full HR lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and compliance with labor legislation.
  • Support succession planning, talent development, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Monitor HR metrics and trends to inform leadership decision-making.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, promoting best people management practices.
  • Maintain HR compliance through documentation, audits, and statutory reporting.

Payroll & HR Administration:

  • Manage monthly/weekly payroll schedules, including new hires and terminations.
  • Process payroll, reconcile records, and submit reports to the Group Financial Manager.
  • Handle annual increases, bonuses, and compensation adjustments.
  • Resolve payroll queries related to taxes, leave, and salaries.
  • Oversee leave management and ensure policy compliance.
  • Prepare and submit EMP501 returns and other statutory reports.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee records.
  • Administer pension, provident fund, and medical insurance schedules.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, or Business Administration (HR major).
  • In-depth knowledge of South African labor legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, COIDA, SDA).
  • 5–7 years of HR generalist experience with operations and payroll exposure.
  • Reports to: Executive Head of Human Resources.
