Goods Receiving Supervisor – Cashbuild Vacancies
Job Purpose
The Goods Receiving Supervisor is responsible for managing the receiving and returning of stock from suppliers and other stores. This role ensures accurate recording of goods received, labelling of stock, and timely distribution to the store floor for merchandising.
Requirements

Grade 12 with 1 year related experience or a minimum of 2 years work-related experience

Ability to communicate in English and preferably the dominant local language

Above-average numeric skills and attention to detail

Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks

Computer literate
-
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Key Responsibilities
Receiving and Inter-Branch Transfers (IBT)
-
Ensure a second designated Cashbuild employee is present during all stock receiving or dispatching
-
Receive stock from suppliers, verify goods against invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders

Complete proof of delivery notes and provide to suppliers with required stamps
-
Accurately capture stock on the IT system within prescribed timeframes
-
Resolve discrepancies on invoices, ensuring amendments are endorsed and signed by supplier representatives

Process all inter-branch transfers (IBTs) in and out, ensuring correct documentation and timely completion
Stock Distribution

Clear stock from the Goods Receiving Supervisor (GRS) office and distribute to the sales floor within set timelines
Stock Labelling and Pricing

Label stock without printed SKUs correctly
-
Verify accuracy of printed SKUs and rectify errors
-
Adhere to Cashbuild pricing policy and action pending price changes as required
Supplier Claims and Corrections

Validate supplier claims with pick-up slips or credit notes attached to adjustment vouchers and authorised by the Store Manager

Ensure corrections are properly documented and authorised
-
Raise supplier claims only if stock is to be collected immediately
Security Awareness
-
Keep the receiving gate supervised when open
-
Secure receiving stamps and Purchase Order books in a lockable cupboard or drawer
-
Lock the GRS office when not in use
-
Ensure supplier truck crews remain at their trucks and do not loiter
Ready for Business

Maintain a clean and organized GRS office
-
Clear excess and damaged stock from the receiving area, except stock to be returned to suppliers

Follow Ready for Business and Beyond My Control procedures
Customer Service

Adhere to Cashbuild dress code and display name badge

Assist suppliers with queries

Deliver exceptional customer service to any customer interacting with the GRS
Safety (OHSA) Requirements

Ensure only authorised personnel access the first aid box
-
Maintain safety compliance within the area of responsibility

Report any safety concerns to the Store Manager
