Sales Representative – Value Logistics
Purpose of the Job
The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling the company’s service offerings, with a primary focus on truck rental solutions while identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional logistics services. The role involves building strong client relationships, identifying customer needs, and delivering tailored transport and logistics solutions that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Gather detailed information regarding clients’ transport, distribution, and logistics expenditure
- Assess potential opportunities and prioritise focus areas for business development
- Monitor and understand competitor activities within the assigned market area
- Build strong relationships with customers to establish trust and long-term partnerships
- Identify customer service requirements and provide accurate quotations for appropriate services
- Expand the existing customer base by understanding client operations and promoting additional services
- Close sales opportunities and secure new business agreements
- Target and develop national accounts where applicable
- Maintain knowledge of client agreements and contracts with the company
- Ensure that services provided remain relevant to changing customer requirements
- Understand the client’s business operations and identify opportunities for service improvements and growth
- Ensure each client interaction adds value and supports the overall sales strategy
- Maintain service delivery standards according to established operational procedures
- Maintain frequent contact with key business decision-makers and stakeholders
- Continuously update product and service knowledge
- Identify customer challenges and resolve queries such as invoice issues, claims, or proof of delivery requests promptly
- Maintain a professional image and represent the company positively at all times
- Adhere to company policies and procedures in all activities
- Submit sales reports and required documentation within agreed timelines
- Achieve sales budgets, targets, and performance goals set by management
- Support additional tasks or responsibilities as requested by management in line with operational objectives
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Experience within a sales environment
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans

- Strong ability to identify and understand customer requirements

- Customer relationship management and relationship-building capabilities
