About the Program:
Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Clinic Practitioner to join their team at Mall of Africa. The role is responsible for managing and operating a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic located within a pharmacy, under the scope of a registered nursing practitioner.
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
- Grade 12 – Matric
- Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
- Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
- Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Nursing practitioner must obtain BHF registration
- 2-3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Advantageous:
- Minimum 5 years practicing as a Primary Health Care Sister
- Experience with Patient Record System, CKS, and Allegra
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Clinic Practitioner duties in line with industry regulations and best practices
- Manage clinic operations and set objectives to optimize patient flow
- Ensure all clinic services are consistently available and operational
- Maintain accurate patient records and follow up on communications
- Ensure clinic stock and equipment are in working order and sufficiently stocked
- Process claims accurately and on time
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and community healthcare stakeholders
Competencies:
Essential:
- Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS pre- and post-counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care
- Participation in quarterly CPD and in-service training with Dis-Chem
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Understanding of financial implications related to clinic targets
- Analytical skills for reviewing clinic statistics and commission performance
- Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial mindset, honesty, and integrity
- Ability to manage self and team; self-directed and motivated
- Effective time management
Advantageous:

- Certifications: Baby Immunisation (DoH/Sanofi Pasteur), Family Planning (DoH), Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, Disease Management
Special Conditions of Employment:
