About the Role:
The Senior Training Specialist will oversee and manage daily training operations across Cabin, Ground, and Technical divisions, ensuring all sessions are effectively scheduled, resourced, and delivered according to the training plan. This role ensures consistency, quality, and regulatory compliance across all training portfolios while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day training operations, coordinating schedules, resources, and delivery across all divisions.
- Monitor training timelines and resource allocation to optimise utilisation and adherence to the training plan.
- Act as the operational escalation point for direct reports, resolving delivery challenges and maintaining continuity.
- Standardise training processes, documentation, and practices across divisions to ensure quality and consistency.
- Align training teams, instructors, planning, and administrative support for seamless execution and regulatory compliance.
- Identify operational gaps, recommend solutions, and implement improvements to enhance training effectiveness.
- Collect feedback from the team on operational challenges and collaborate with stakeholders to drive process enhancements.
- Document lessons learned, track recurring issues, and propose practical improvements for training delivery.
- Compile weekly performance summaries and dashboard inputs, reporting on training progress, completion rates, and instructor performance.
- Provide accurate reports on training risks, key performance metrics, and corrective action recommendations.
- Monitor and optimise instructor utilisation, addressing under- or over-deployment of resources.
- Support audit readiness by validating documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Encourage teamwork, provide guidance, and develop direct reports, offering specialised insights and performance assessments.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Relevant diploma/degree in Education, Aviation Management, or Training, or a minimum of 3 years’ aviation experience.
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a mid-sized organisation, including a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Prior experience with SACAA audits or internal compliance reviews (advantageous).
- Experience with AIMS or similar training and scheduling systems (advantageous).
- Operational knowledge of aviation training structures, delivery models, and SACAA regulatory requirements.
