Finance Clerk – Truworths Careers
Truworths is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Clerk to join the Expense team. The role is responsible for ensuring timely payment of suppliers, resolving queries, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers while supporting the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Expense Supervisor and support daily team operations.
- Validate expense invoices, including tax details, and process invoices and credit notes accurately.
- Prepare reconciliations for creditors’ accounts and ensure timely resolution of account queries.
- Follow up with suppliers to resolve outstanding issues.
- Compile payment runs and manage the Expense Creditors inbox.
- Adhere to weekly and monthly deadlines, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Address audit queries and provide necessary documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric with relevant work experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in creditors or finance operations.
- Knowledge of VAT requirements and valid tax invoices.
- Experience working effectively within a team environment is advantageous.
Competencies
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Oracle Financials.
- Advanced Excel skills essential.
- Confident in interacting with superiors and suppliers.
- Ability to handle and resolve queries accurately and on time.
- Capable of coordinating and completing month-end functions.
- Strong prioritisation skills, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated, organised, and goal-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and high energy.
