Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed South African graduates between the ages of 18 and 35 to participate in a two-year Young Professional-in-Training programme. This structured programme provides institutional knowledge and hands-on training to help participants gain valuable work experience and enhance their employability.
The programme is designed to offer mentorship and professional development over 24 months, with progress assessments conducted every six months to ensure alignment with both candidate expectations and TFR objectives. Successful applicants will be placed within various functional areas of the organization, providing exposure to real-world industry challenges and workplace dynamics.
This opportunity is available to unemployed graduates who have obtained their qualifications from institutions registered with the Department of Higher Education & Training, including Universities, Universities of Technology, and TVET Colleges. Candidates must hold a completed National Diploma, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, BTech, or Honours qualification at a minimum of NQF Level 6 or higher, with no prior work experience.
Programme Structure and Outputs
- A two-year graduate development programme providing both theoretical knowledge and practical workplace experience.
- Placement in various depots and departments within TFR, aligned with the candidate’s field of study.
- Continuous assessment and mentorship to ensure professional growth and alignment with industry requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Fields of study: Industrial Psychology, Psychometry, Psychology, Social Work.
- No prior work experience required.
- Applicants will undergo a recruitment process, and selected candidates will be placed in relevant functional areas within TFR.
- Must be a South African citizen.
