Job Description
Truworths is seeking self-motivated individuals with experience in window dressing or visual merchandising. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and share our commitment to fashion, quality, and customer service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean display areas and ensure good housekeeping practices are followed.

  • Stay updated on display procedures and notifications, implementing changes as needed.

  • Keep informed of current promotions and credit drives, ensuring displays align with these initiatives.

  • Enhance Truworths’ image in all interactions with staff and customers, maintaining a professional appearance at all times.

  • Respond to staff and customer inquiries regarding fashion, promotions, and trends in a knowledgeable and professional manner.

  • Handle customer and staff queries about displayed merchandise in windows and within the store.

  • Remain calm and professional in conflict situations.

  • Actively contribute to the overall team performance and collaborate with colleagues.

  • Take responsibility for personal training, applying new skills to the role.

  • Follow security procedures and complete administrative documentation accurately.

  • Stay current on store safety procedures and policies (OHASA).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in conducting displays, including building, painting, wiring, and dressing.

  • Attention to detail in storing and maintaining models and props.

  • Flexibility and the ability to cope with constant change.

  • Ability to follow and implement Implementation Manuals.

  • A valid driver’s license is required.

  • A creative fashion sense and an ability to interpret fashion trends.

  • Good judgment and a sense of balance to utilize space effectively.

  • Strong listening skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

  • Planning and decision-making abilities.

  • Physically fit and mobile, as the role requires lifting, carrying, standing, bending, and stretching.

  • A sense of urgency and the ability to manage time effectively.

  • Resourceful with the ability to “make a plan” and improvise when necessary.

  • Strong color coordination skills and a love for fashion.
