Pick n Pay Careers – Trainee Manager Stores

Overview: Kickstart your career path to becoming a Store Manager with Pick n Pay. This role provides hands-on experience and training in store management, preparing you for future leadership positions within our retail operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of departmental management experience
  • 2-3 years of retail experience is an advantage
  • Valid Driver’s License (essential)
  • Strong numeracy skills and retail industry knowledge
  • Must pass required assessments and at least 2 competency-based interviews
  • Flexibility to be transferred between stores
  • Authorization for a full credit and criminal check required
  • Matriculated (attach certified copy to application)
  • Valid South African ID (attach copy to application)
  • Valid Driver’s License Code 08 (attach certified copy of license)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safety standards (floor and backup areas)
  • Adhere to security procedures and merchandise/display standards
  • Conduct regular quality checks and stock rotation
  • Remove damaged/expired stock, prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damages
  • Verify pricing accuracy (e.g., labels)
  • Complete all administrative tasks accurately and timely
  • Analyze, maintain, and update relevant information/documentation
  • Plan and implement sales promotions
  • Advise customers on products and services, address their requests
  • Monitor and manage budgets and profitability
  • Optimize stock levels through effective ordering
  • Manage and motivate employees to uphold store standards
