Ackermans Vacancies – Trainee Manager – JHB EAST

Job Purpose:
Ackermans is seeking a Trainee Manager for our JHB East region. This role is focused on driving exceptional standards across all areas of store operations, including customer service, sales targets, quality standards on the sales floor, shrinkage and cost control, store administration, stock presentation, and visual merchandising. As a Trainee Manager, you will also focus on proactive team management, motivation, and the training and development of team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive store sales by implementing effective business processes.
• Achieve and exceed sales budgets and growth targets.
• Maximize profits through efficient cost management within budget.
• Apply professional HR practices to ensure effective staffing and talent processes.
• Manage store stock levels efficiently.
• Deliver outstanding customer service, consistently exceeding customer expectations.
• Lead and communicate effectively with team members to optimize job performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Foster a productive and positive team environment by embodying company values.
• Maintain a strong store and brand image, in alignment with the business plan.

Minimum Requirements:

• Self-motivated, energetic, and proactive.
• Minimum of 3 years of retail experience, including at least 1 year in a management role.
• Strong skills in merchandise management, stock, and cost control.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and influence a team.
• High standards in store presentation and operations.
• Strong commitment to personal and team development.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal); competence in a second official language is a plus.
