Parmalat Vacancies – Trade Marketing Category Manager
Lactalis is looking for a Trade Marketing Category Manager to join our team in Stellenbosch. This role focuses on executing trade marketing strategies for the cheese category, bridging the gap between marketing and sales to develop winning customer plans that drive profitable growth. Candidates should have 5-7 years of experience in a marketing, sales, or trade marketing environment, preferably within FMCG.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Marketing & Sales.

5-7 years of experience in an FMCG environment is advantageous.

Proficiency in Category Management tools (Excel, IRI/AC Nielsen, Dunhumby).

Strong project management and presentation skills.

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including business and customer interactions.

Ability to analyze financial, consumer, and shopper data.

Cross-functional collaboration and business approach.

Ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Planning and Execution

Develop and implement channel plans aligned with the marketing strategy.

Work with key account managers to drive quarterly promotional activity grids.

Build strong relationships between marketing and sales teams to enhance execution.

Deploy marketing plans to the sales and field teams through structured cycle planning.

Monitor and track pricing and promotional strategies to ensure effective execution.
Trade Marketing Activation

Develop and execute trade marketing strategies and budgets.

Implement tailored point-of-purchase (POP) solutions to enhance brand visibility and sales.

Drive trade and brand activation plans to boost shopper engagement.

Develop the go-to-market strategy for new product development (NPD), covering trade propositions, distribution targets, merchandising guidelines, and launch plans.

Translate brand strategies into effective customer plans that deliver success at the point of purchase.
Category Management and Customer Engagement

Lead the category management agenda with customers, focusing on long-term category growth, distribution, ranging, and space management.

Conduct regular business analyses and presentations to identify growth opportunities.

Use shopper research and market intelligence to inform category plans and customer strategy reviews.

Drive the implementation of merchandising guidelines, including training for field sales teams.

Provide data-driven selling arguments for product ranging and distribution targets for NPD.
