Job Overview:
Fidelity is looking to fill vacancies for Tellers in the Cash Service Department at our Port Elizabeth branch. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure high-quality counting, verification, and packing services for our clients. Tellers are responsible for handling change orders, floats, and bulk money with accuracy and efficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Certificate
- Registered PSIRA Grade C
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar working environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive verified change orders from tellers and pack floats for clients
- Prepare documentation and packing slips for each withdrawal
- Ensure accurate and timely dispatch of change and floats
- Maintain proper records for all change requests and bulk orders
- Handle manual float books and balance totals daily
- Operate under camera surveillance and dual control during cash handling
- Assist in packing payrolls and floats based on client requests
- Follow all security protocols and company procedures
Key Performance Areas:
- Ensure all money balances with change requests
- Handle cash for cash change orders accurately
- Collaborate with treasury tellers and change packers for efficient packing
- Maintain high standards of security and confidentiality in all transactions
- Report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors
Skills & Characteristics:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Bilingual (advantageous)
- Excellent administrative and time management abilities
- Reliable, trustworthy, and honest
- Ability to work long hours or overtime as needed
Knowledge & Abilities:
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and industry standards
- Proficiency in MS Office programs
- Team player with the ability to work independently when required
- Good physical health and willingness to work in a high-demand environment
