Fidelity Vacancies – Technician (Installations, Services, Maintenance and Access)

Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Technician (Installations, Services, Maintenance, and Access) to join our team. You will be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of electronic security systems at commercial and industrial premises. These systems include alarms, access control, CCTV, fire systems, wiring, commissioning, and more.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Electronic Security Technician.
  • Expertise in programming, wiring, installations, and fault-finding.
  • A valid Code 08 driver’s license is essential.
  • PSIRA registered (Grade E, D, C) or ability to register through Fidelity-ADT.

Job Requirements:

  • Install and program a variety of alarm systems (Ajax, Paradox, Texecom, Caddx, IDS, DSC, Rhino, Risco).
  • Install and maintain electric fences.
  • Set up and maintain smart CCTV systems, including line crossing, facial recognition, and street surveillance.
  • Integrate electric fencing, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems.
  • Set up and maintain wireless, fibre, and copper networks.
  • Install basic electrical systems (e.g., DB boards, inverters, UPSs, generators).
  • Provide oversight and design for large-scale projects.
  • Offer IT and network support.
  • Install and maintain access control systems (Biometric, UHF, facial recognition, and access cards).

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Program systems according to specifications.
  • Plan and execute cable runs with the wireman.
  • Obtain customer codes before attending any service calls, including when on standby.
  • Complete system handovers and ensure clients are fully informed.
  • Fill out job cards after every installation or service call.
  • Provide feedback to your Manager, Supervisor, and the Call Centre upon completing a call.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and assist with stocktaking when necessary.
  • Keep the company vehicle clean and submit petrol slips regularly.
