Fidelity Vacancies – Technician (Installations, Service)-Commercial

Fidelity is looking for a Technician (Installations, Service) – Commercial to handle the installation, servicing, and maintenance of electronic security equipment at commercial and industrial premises. The ideal candidate should have experience in alarms, access control, CCTV, fire systems, wiring, and commissioning.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as an electronic security technician
  • Proficiency in programming, wiring, installations, and fault-finding
  • Valid Code 08 driver’s license
  • PSIRA registration (Grade E, D, C)

Job Requirements

  • Install and program multiple alarm systems, including Ajax, Paradox, Texecom, Caddx, IDS, DSC, Rhino, and Risco
  • Installation and maintenance of electric fences
  • Setup and maintenance of smart CCTV systems with features such as line crossing, facial recognition, and street surveillance
  • Integration of electric fencing, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems
  • Setup and maintenance of wireless, fibre, and copper networks
  • Installation of basic electrical components, including DB boards, inverters, UPSs, and generators
  • Oversight and design of large projects
  • IT and network support
  • Installation and maintenance of access control systems, including biometric systems, UHF, facial recognition, and access card systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Program systems according to specifications
  • Plan cable runs with the wireman
  • Obtain customer codes before attending calls and when on standby
  • Complete handovers and job cards after every installation
  • Provide feedback to the Manager, Supervisor, and Call Centre upon job completion
  • Maintain stock levels and assist with stock-taking
  • Keep company vehicles clean and submit petrol slips
