Fidelity Vacancies – Technician-Commercial

The Technician-Commercial role is responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of electronic security equipment at commercial and industrial premises. The position involves working with alarm systems, access control, CCTV, fire detection, wiring, and system commissioning.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an electronic security technician.
  • Expertise in programming, wiring, installations, and fault-finding.
  • Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
  • PSIRA registered (Grade E, D, C) or eligible to apply through Fidelity-ADT.

Job Requirements

  • Install and program various alarm systems, including Ajax, Paradox, Texecom, Caddx, IDS, DSC, Rhino, and Risco.
  • Install and maintain electric fences.
  • Set up and maintain smart CCTV systems with advanced features such as line crossing, facial recognition, and street surveillance.
  • Integrate electric fencing, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems.
  • Configure and maintain wireless, fiber, and copper networks.
  • Install and maintain electrical components such as DB boards, inverters, UPSs, and generators.
  • Oversee and design large-scale security projects.
  • Provide IT and network support.
  • Install and maintain access control systems, including biometric systems, UHF, facial recognition, and access card systems.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Program security systems according to specifications.
  • Plan cable runs in coordination with the wireman.
  • Obtain customer codes before attending service calls, including standby shifts.
  • Complete handovers and job cards after each installation.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Manager, Supervisor, and Call Centre.
  • Maintain stock levels and assist with stock-taking.
  • Ensure the company vehicle is clean and well-maintained.
  • Submit petrol slips and maintain accurate records.
