Sasol careers – Technician Analyser I
The Technician Analyser I is responsible for developing and implementing effective analyser equipment strategies and optimising solutions. The role includes the successful execution of analyser projects, providing expert assistance to the maintenance team, and ensuring coordination between the analyser department and service providers.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that work standards are met according to quality, quantity, and due dates.
- Achieve delivery targets, including OPEX KPIs, products, services, and discipline-specific goals.
- Ensure that both individual and team targets, due dates, and quality standards are met.
- Provide technical support to the analyser maintenance teams.
- Write calibration programs for measuring instruments.
- Perform fault-finding and repair of online analysers.
- Monitor and control cost and budget awareness.
- Liaise with procurement, suppliers, and contractors.
- Gather information and accumulate data independently.
- Ensure the availability of critical spares.
- Ensure online analysers comply with ISO standards.
- Meet quality standards and compliance in all work tasks.
- Conduct basic processing and reporting as required.
- Manage complex schedules and communicate possible delays in meeting deadlines.
- Optimise and control resources effectively.
- Independently implement analyser application solutions.
- Ensure optimal resource utilisation and contractor management.
- Achieve safety and risk objectives and apply safety in all practices, especially in project planning and execution.
- Implement safe work procedures and ensure safe project execution.
- Manage work planning and delivery according to targets.
- Review and follow up on compliance against standards and objectives.
- Develop suitable technical proposals based on practical and theoretical knowledge.
- Comply with all legal and company standards, procedures, and methods.
- Resolve work obstacles and issues positively and quickly.
- Build customer relationships to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.
Formal Education
- National diploma in Instrumentation or Electrical Light Current. BTech is an advantage.
Minimum Experience
- 3-5 years of experience as a technician.
Required Personal and Professional Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to manage complexity and analyse alternatives.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and equipment utilisation.
- Knowledge of safety principles and decision-making quality.
- Action-oriented with strong planning and organisational skills.
- Accountability and responsibility in all aspects of work.
