Job Description
Main Purpose
The role of the Technical Trainer is to effectively facilitate and manage the learning of employees in technical training, supporting operations through process and procedure training and assessments aligned with operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Functional Training
-
Manage the Unicentre Technical Training and handle ad hoc requests.

Schedule all required technical process training within the operation.
-
Complete all necessary course administration prior to scheduled training.
-
Facilitate on-the-job technical training as per the training schedule.
-
Conduct all technical theoretical assessments for employees where relevant.

Complete technical job assessments for employees where relevant.
-
Perform random technical process compliance checks.
-
Assess employees as requested by the Operations Managers, in line with operational needs.

Report assessment results to the Operational Manager and First Line Manager.

Regularly engage with the Operations Manager and First Line Managers to review process training requirements.

Administer skills development and career path training for the site.

Partner with the Process & Integration Manager to support the implementation of new or updated operational processes.

Collaborate with the Process & Integration Manager to design learning and assessment guides, and update training materials.

Submit all training registers and relevant documentation to the Supply Chain & Logistics Skills Development Facilitator (SDF).

Schedule training sessions, considering operational impacts.

Compile and distribute weekly and monthly reports accurately to the L&D Manager.

Ensure confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of work.

Adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation (e.g., OHASA and SHE program).

Support L&D initiatives across the site.

Interpret and apply Standard Operating Procedures into training processes and content.

Systems, Process & Technical Compliance

Competence in training on digital platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom.

Strong digital capabilities within the L&D scope.

Exposure to both traditional and online facilitation.

Experience in learning content design and strong facilitation and presentation skills.

Proactive with an awareness of industry changes within the L&D scope.

Knowledge of relevant computer packages and ability to capture data and generate reports.

Understanding of warehousing and end-to-end supply chain processes.
-
Knowledge of WHS processes (TRICEPS) is advantageous.
Minimum Requirements
Other Job Requirements
-
Matric certificate or relevant tertiary qualification at NQF Level 4. An ETD Certificate would be advantageous.

2-4 years of experience in Supply Chain & Logistics.
-
2 years of experience in training and learning development.
-
Experience in facilitating various initiatives beyond technical training is advantageous.

Ability to work flexible hours based on business requirements.
-
Ability to work in different temperature-controlled environments, such as Cold Chain and Frozen areas.
