Fidelity Vacancies – Technical Assistant-West Coast

Fidelity is looking for a Technical Assistant-West Coast to support technicians with alarm and security equipment installations. This role requires hands-on experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
  • At least two years of experience as a Wireman
  • Practical knowledge of electrical/electronic systems is advantageous
  • PSIRA registration (Grade E) is an advantage

Job Requirements and Attributes

  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of programming
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Good time management and planning abilities

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Assist technicians with the installation of alarm and security equipment
  • Remove old equipment from clients’ premises as needed
  • Run new cables, apply glue, drill holes, and mount detectors, panels, contacts, and lights
  • Ensure the required cabling and tools are available for installations
  • Provide support with user functions and assist with handovers
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and work sites after installations

Performance Standards

  • Complete tasks neatly and efficiently according to ADT standards
  • Ensure all equipment is removed from sites after installation
  • Keep the technician informed of any required equipment or cabling needs
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in all tasks
  • Ensure all work areas and vehicles are clean upon job completion
