Overview:
Join Pick n Pay as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in sourcing, evaluating, and hiring top talent. Collaborate with People Business Advisors, hiring managers, and department heads to understand staffing needs, develop effective recruitment strategies, and ensure a smooth hiring process.
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant HR Degree or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-7 years of recruitment experience across various industries (Retail & FMCG experience is advantageous)
- 2-3 years of Workday recruitment experience is essential
- Demonstrated Talent Acquisition/Recruitment experience in both Agency and Corporate environments
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume recruitment environment
Skills & Knowledge:
- Proven experience in Talent Acquisition/Recruitment
- Solid understanding of the end-to-end recruitment process
- Familiarity with recruitment tools, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and HR software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent negotiation and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Strong experience in stakeholder management

Key Responsibilities:
Candidate Sourcing:
- Utilize various sourcing methods (job boards, social media, headhunting, networking, employee referrals) to attract potential candidates.
- Build and maintain a talent pool or candidate database for future hiring needs.
Screening and Evaluation:
- Review CVs to assess qualifications, skills, and suitability for open positions.
- Conduct initial screenings and interviews to evaluate candidates’ interest, experience, and cultural fit.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with People Business Advisors and Hiring/Line Managers to understand job requirements and departmental needs.
- Provide guidance on job descriptions and qualifications.
Interview Coordination:
- Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience with timely communication and necessary information.
Candidate Assessment:
- Conduct pre-employment assessments or tests as required for specific roles.
- Check candidate references and perform background checks as necessary.
Offer Negotiation:
- Extend job offers to selected candidates and assist with negotiating compensation and benefits packages.
- Manage counteroffers and offer acceptance as needed.
Onboarding Support:
- Collaborate with the People team to ensure a smooth transition for new hires during the onboarding process.
Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate interactions and recruitment activities.
- Generate recruitment reports and metrics for management review.
Compliance:
- Stay updated on labour laws and regulations to ensure recruitment practices are compliant.
- Promote diversity and inclusion in the hiring process.
