Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Sushi Chef to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of sushi dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our Sushi Department runs smoothly, providing customers with fresh and appealing sushi options daily.
What You’ll Do
As a Sushi Chef, your responsibilities will include:
- Delegating tasks to kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensuring visually appealing plate presentations.
- Monitoring food stock levels and placing orders as needed.
- Experimenting with recipes and suggesting innovative ingredients.
- Preparing all components for sushi assembly, following recipes with precise ingredient quantities.
- Creating new recipe templates for innovative sushi products.
- Ordering ingredients from suppliers when stock is low.
- Conducting weekly stock takes to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Assisting in the preparation of sushi ingredients, including cutting, slicing, and rolling.
- Mastering various sushi-making techniques, such as nigiri, sashimi, and maki.
- Collaborating with fellow sushi chefs to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Maintaining a clean and organized sushi station, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assisting with inventory management and restocking sushi supplies.
- Contributing to the quality and consistency of all sushi dishes.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Matric certificate.
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef.
- Proficiency in English.
- A clear criminal record.
