Pick n Pay Careers – Supply Chain Planner
Overview: We are looking for a skilled Supply Chain Planner to oversee and optimize the flow of stock through our value chain, aiming for sales growth, high availability, minimal waste, and reduced distribution costs. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to develop accurate forecasts, sales plans, and vendor orders, and implementing a strategic digital program to enhance our supply chain operations.
Requirements:
- BCom Logistics/Degree in Quantitative Analytics, Operational Research, Industrial Engineering, or Applied Mathematics (RPL)
- Experience with SQL, Power BI, and Access is advantageous
- 2 years of experience in Retail, Supply Chain, or Planning, with at least 1 year specific to Pick n Pay

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Plan Creation:
- Develop weekly sales plans for assigned categories using standardized planning tools and the T-4 process.
- Consolidate inputs for promotions, events, and seasonal changes, utilizing annual trend reports to identify trade opportunities.
- Plan for new product launches and store-specific nuances, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
Liaison and Communication:
- Engage with commercial teams to align sales strategies and forecasts, sharing weekly plans and addressing any discrepancies.
- Communicate sales forecasts and promotional plans to divisional teams and stakeholders.
Operational Execution:
- Load forecasts into SAP, ensuring accurate reflection of sales plans and promotional forecasts.
- Set replenishment parameters and optimize inventory levels.
- Monitor daily orders, sales performance, and KPIs, making adjustments as needed.
Category Profitability:
- Provide input on promotional pricing, range decisions, and category profitability.
- Support effective ordering and execution of service counter departments.
- Work with commercial and logistics teams to enhance franchisee buy-in and profitability.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including the SCP DC volume management team and technical teams.
- Collaborate with external vendors to address performance issues and improve strike rates.
Self-Management and Teamwork:
- Foster a positive working environment and share insights on process improvements.
- Communicate effectively with team members and take ownership of tasks.
- Adhere to Pick n Pay values and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Value Chain Costs:
- Understand value chain cost components and planning’s role in influencing them.
- Ensure efficient order patterns and escalate issues related to pack sizes and vendor projects.
