Job Purpose:
Are you ready to take on an impactful role at Pick n Pay? We are looking for a Supply Chain Planner to drive the efficient flow of stock through our value chain in a cost-effective way. You will play a vital role in supporting sales growth, improving stock availability, minimizing waste, and optimizing distribution costs. Join our collaborative environment, working with cross-functional teams to develop accurate forecasts, sales plans, and vendor orders to meet our business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Planning: Create and manage weekly sales plans for assigned categories, accounting for promotions, trends, and store-specific events. Align forecasts with business strategies and regularly liaise with commercial teams to ensure consistency.
  • Operational Execution: Implement sales plans in SAP, set accurate replenishment parameters, monitor daily order trends, and ensure correct system replenishment to reflect in-store demand.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs for sales, waste, working capital, and availability; make adjustments to sales plans as needed to align with actual customer demand.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Communicate forecasts with divisional teams, collaborate with vendors, and support the Store Execution Team to resolve any sales or stock issues.
  • Profitability & Cost Efficiency: Support category profitability through strategic ordering and alignment with commercial teams on price promotions. Contribute to vendor growth initiatives and assist with the centralization of vendors.
  • Self-Management & Team Collaboration: Demonstrate accountability, maintain positive team relationships, and uphold Pick n Pay’s values. Share insights for process improvements and handle challenging situations with a constructive approach.

Requirements:

  • Education: BCom Logistics, Degree in Quantitative Analytics, Operational Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 1 year in retail, supply chain, or planning.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and MS Access is advantageous.
  • Competencies: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, conceptual thinking, and excellent communication skills. Able to prioritize, make informed decisions, and build productive relationships.
