Job Description:
BUCO is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our Protea Glen branch. The ideal candidate will ensure the store’s growth, profitability, and operational efficiency by managing costs, maximizing sales, and developing innovative strategies to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the continuity, growth, and profitability of the store by managing costs and increasing sales turnover and returns.
  • Identify new business opportunities, take calculated risks, and generate creative ideas for expanding sales and implementing new business strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Executive and Regional Operations Manager on store planning and budgeting.
  • Manage procurement, stock control, and merchandising to maintain stock variances.
  • Ensure the store operates within the allocated budget and meets financial targets.
  • Take accountability for the day-to-day operations, including administration, customer sales, service, and staff management.
  • Analyze operational information to make informed decisions that drive store performance.
  • Inspire, motivate, guide, and lead employees to achieve store goals and foster a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Uphold and promote the company values and culture.

Job Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 5-10 years of retail experience, with at least 3 years in a junior to mid-level management role.
  • Industry-related experience is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, stock control, and merchandising principles.
  • Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
