Role Overview:
Join Pick n Pay as a Store Manager, where you’ll lead a dynamic team to deliver exceptional customer service, achieve store targets, and uphold operational excellence. You will ensure adherence to standards and regulations, manage resources effectively, and help drive our store’s success through hands-on leadership and a passion for customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service & Visual Merchandising:
    • Drive a customer-first approach by upholding service standards and addressing customer needs promptly.
    • Oversee visual merchandising to ensure displays meet Pick n Pay standards and align with promotions.
  • People Management:
    • Support all HR aspects, including recruitment, training, performance management, and staff development.
    • Foster a positive, motivated team environment and address any staffing needs or performance issues as they arise.
  • Operational & Stock Management:
    • Open and close the store in line with company security protocols.
    • Oversee daily operations such as staff scheduling, invoice processing, expense control, and reconciliations.
    • Ensure stock is efficiently received, displayed, and monitored for quality, with controls in place for shrinkage and soilage.
  • Sales & Promotions:
    • Drive store sales to meet budget targets, monitor turnover, and implement promotional activities.
    • Execute markdowns, manage stock control, and promote sales events to maximize store performance.

Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior management experience, including reliever roles, is essential.
  • Skills: Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Teams/Zoom; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, and relocate between stores as needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform hands-on tasks in a fast-paced environment.
