Job Description
We are thrilled to invite you to join the Mr Price Group Store Manager Talent Pool for our Mr Price Cellular Stores! By joining this pool, you’ll be among the first to be considered for upcoming Store Manager roles in Eastern Cape.

The Store Manager will oversee the daily operations of a Mr Price Cellular store, ensuring that objectives, store targets, innovation initiatives, and customer service standards are consistently met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Stock Management

  • Accurately receive and unpack stock to merchandise and replenish the store.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels through defined processes (e.g., stock counts, stock takes, stock loss action plans) to mitigate risks and ensure sufficient stock availability.
  • Maintain the stockroom to meet housekeeping standards.
  • Authorize write-offs, breakages, recalls, out-of-box failures (OBF), cellular repairs, and returns.

2. Sales Growth & Profitability

  • Analyze sales and profitability reports to collaborate with management on operational action plans.
  • Monitor store expenditure and implement strategies to boost sales performance.
  • Stay updated on in-store product performance and provide feedback to the support center to enhance sales.
  • Identify and propose new opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness, including in-store marketing and competitor shopping.
  • Drive credit, insurance, mobile, and cellular performance to achieve budgeted targets.

3. Risk Management

  • Conduct compliance checks using defined processes (e.g., admin checks, store audits, visual audits, health & safety standards, security protocols).
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures to minimize risks.

4. Customer Experience Management

  • Implement and maintain customer experience initiatives (e.g., markdowns, promotions, visual standards, customer feedback).
  • Uphold customer service standards through effective execution of processes and housekeeping.

5. Leadership & Development

  • Lead and motivate the store team to achieve KPIs and operational strategies aligned with company values.
  • Identify and address training, coaching, and development needs with a focus on talent management and succession planning.
  • Recruit, manage performance, and administer team operations in line with company policies.

6. Innovation

  • Implement Head Office innovation initiatives (e.g., Mpos, MRP Empower, E-docs, and Money Hub) to enhance customer experiences and improve store processes.

Qualifications:

  • NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a store management role.
  • Proficiency in sales & service management, budgeting, computer literacy, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of retail trade, brand management, customer service, cellular and mobile products, new accounts, and insurance products.
