The Store Manager is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of a Mr Price Cellular store, ensuring that store targets, innovation initiatives, and customer service standards are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities

Stock Management:

  • Ensure stock is accurately received, unpacked, and merchandised.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels through stock counts, stock takes, and loss prevention measures.
  • Oversee stockroom maintenance and ensure compliance with housekeeping standards.
  • Authorize write-offs, breakages, recalls, out-of-box failures (OBF), and cellular repairs and returns.

Sales Growth & Profitability:

  • Analyze sales and profitability reports to drive operational improvements.
  • Monitor product performance and provide feedback to the support center.
  • Identify new sales opportunities, including in-store marketing and competitor analysis.
  • Drive credit, insurance, mobile, and cellular performance to meet budget targets.

Risk Management:

  • Conduct compliance checks through store audits, administrative checks, visual audits, health & safety standards, and security procedures.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain operational efficiency.

Customer Experience Management:

  • Implement customer experience strategies, including pricing updates, promotions, store layout adjustments, and customer feedback integration.
  • Ensure a high level of service through effective store presentation and operational processes.

Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and manage store teams to achieve KPIs and align with company values.
  • Identify training and development needs, focusing on talent management and succession planning.
  • Manage recruitment, performance evaluations, and staff development in line with company policies.

Innovation:

  • Implement innovation initiatives from Head Office, such as mobile point-of-sale (Mpos), MRP Empower, E-docs, and Money Hub, to enhance customer experience and store efficiency.

Qualifications

  • NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in a store management role.
  • Strong sales and service management, budgeting, and communication skills.
  • Retail trade knowledge, with an understanding of brand positioning, customer service, cellular and mobile products, new accounts, and insurance services.
