Job Description
As a Store Manager, you will lead and oversee the daily operations of the store to ensure that objectives, targets, and customer service standards are not only met but exceeded. Your role is pivotal in driving sales growth, managing stock, and enhancing customer experience.

Responsibilities

Stock Management:

  • Accurately receive and unpack stock to merchandise and replenish the sales floor.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels through processes such as stock counts and stock loss action plans to mitigate risks and ensure adequate stock on hand.
  • Oversee stockroom maintenance to meet housekeeping standards.
  • Authorize write-offs, breakages, recalls, and returns.

Sales Growth & Profitability:

  • Analyze sales and profitability reports to develop and implement operational action plans, enhance sales performance, and monitor store expenditure.
  • Review in-store product performance and provide feedback to improve sales.
  • Identify and propose new opportunities for increasing sales and brand awareness, including in-store marketing, competitor analysis, and local events.

Risk Management:

  • Conduct compliance checks through various processes such as admin checks, store audits, and security measures to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Customer Experience Management:

  • Implement and maintain customer experience processes to meet service standards, including business instructions, markdowns, promotions, and visual standards.

Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and motivate the store team to achieve KPIs and operational goals in line with company values.
  • Identify and address training, coaching, and development needs with a focus on talent management and succession planning.
  • Recruit, administer, and manage performance in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Store or Assistant Store Management, preferably in a similar retail environment.
  • Proficiency in sales and service management, budgeting, and MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills, with a solid understanding of retail trade, brand, customer, and product knowledge.
