Job Objectives:

  • Drive and maximize the store’s financial performance by tracking daily targets and proactively addressing sales goals, including weekly and monthly sales plans.

  • Manage all operational activities of the store efficiently, including expenses, stock management, shrinkage, housekeeping, and administration.

  • Oversee in-store execution of visual merchandising, ensuring the store presentation and promotional standards align with the brand image.

  • Lead, manage, and develop employees to ensure they are competent, motivated, and equipped to meet current and future business needs.

  • Schedule staff effectively in line with the Group’s labor policy and model, ensuring that each department is fully staffed.

  • Handle all administrative tasks in an efficient manner, including ensuring accurate weekly time and attendance records are submitted to HR.

  • Implement customer service initiatives that enhance the customer experience, drive customer loyalty, and meet club card participation targets.

  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders (e.g., center managers, suppliers, DCs) to ensure business objectives are met and opportunities are maximized.

  • Monitor customer trends, demographics, and local competitors to capitalize on business opportunities.

  • Foster integration and cohesion between store operations, pharmacy, and clinic teams.

  • Cultivate a high-performing business culture that prioritizes employee satisfaction, customer experience, and shareholder value.

  • Support Clicks’ vision to be the customer’s first-choice health and beauty retailer by living and promoting the company’s values.

Knowledge:

  • Sound understanding of financial management principles.

  • Strong background in retail/FMCG and knowledge of merchandising and promotions.

  • Knowledge of stock, cost, risk, and compliance management.

  • Expertise in customer service excellence.

  • Understanding of labor legislation and industrial relations practices.

  • Knowledge of competency-based interviewing.

Desired Experience & Qualification:

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a store management role within a retail/FMCG environment with an annual turnover of at least R50 million.

  • Extensive experience in managing a large, diverse workforce.

  • Financial management experience, including working with budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial ratios.

Education:

  • Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%).

  • Essential: B. Degree or Diploma in retail/finance management, pharmacy, or a related field (for external applicants).
