Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the store, driving service excellence, and leading the store operations team to meet sales, profit, and compliance targets. This role aims to create a competitive advantage for the brand by delivering superior results.

Job Objectives:

  • Maximize the store’s financial performance by driving sales and tracking daily, weekly, and monthly targets. Take proactive actions to ensure targets are met.

  • Manage and control all store operations, including expenses, stock management, shrinkage, general housekeeping, and administration.

  • Oversee in-store execution of visual merchandising, ensuring that presentation and promotional standards are maintained, aligning with the brand’s image.

  • Ensure the store team is competent and motivated by effectively selecting, managing, and developing employees to meet current and future business needs.

  • Schedule staff in line with the Group’s labor policy to ensure proper staffing for each department.

  • Ensure all administrative tasks are completed efficiently, including maintaining time and attendance records and submitting them to HR.

  • Implement customer service initiatives that result in a positive customer experience, drive loyalty, and achieve club card participation targets.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, such as center managers, suppliers, and distribution centers, to achieve business objectives.

  • Stay aware of customer trends, demographics, and needs, and monitor competitors’ activities to capitalize on opportunities.

  • Drive cohesion and integration between store operations, pharmacy, and clinic teams.

  • Foster a high-performance business culture that enhances employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value.

  • Support the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer by embracing and promoting the company values.

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience:

  • Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%)

  • Essential: B. Degree or Diploma in Retail/Finance Management, Pharmacy, or related field (External applicants)

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a store management role within a retail/FMCG environment or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme

  • Financial management experience, including working with budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial ratios.

Job Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding and application of financial management principles

  • Experience in retail/FMCG with an understanding of merchandising and promotional principles

  • Knowledge of stock, cost, risk, and compliance management

  • Customer service excellence practices

  • Understanding of labor legislation and industrial relations practices

  • Competency in people management and competency-based interviewing

  • Strong managerial skills with a results-driven approach
