Job Purpose:
The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the store, delivering excellent customer service, and leading the store operations team to meet sales, profit, and compliance targets, contributing to the brand’s competitive advantage.

Job Objectives:

  • Drive and maximize sales to achieve the store’s financial performance goals by tracking daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets, and taking proactive action when necessary.

  • Manage and control all store operations, including expenses, stock management, shrinkage, housekeeping, and administration, in line with company standards and regulations.

  • Oversee the execution of visual merchandising and ensure the store’s appearance and promotional standards align with the brand image.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a competent and engaged team through effective selection, leadership, and ongoing development, ensuring the store is staffed appropriately for current and future business needs.

  • Schedule staff in accordance with the company’s labor policies and staffing models, ensuring the store is fully and effectively staffed.

  • Ensure that all administrative duties are completed efficiently, including the timely submission of time and attendance and employee records to HR.

  • Execute customer service initiatives that enhance the shopping experience, foster customer loyalty, and meet club card participation targets.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., centre managers, suppliers, DCs) to ensure business objectives are met and opportunities are maximized.

  • Monitor customer trends, demographics, and needs, while keeping track of local competitors’ activities to capitalize on emerging opportunities.

  • Foster collaboration and integration between the store operation, pharmacy, and clinic teams, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

  • Promote a high-performance business culture that delivers positive employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value.

  • Uphold and support the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer by living and driving company values.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%)

  • Essential: B. Degree or Diploma in Retail/Finance Management, Pharmacy, or related field (External applicants)

  • Essential: Minimum 2 years of experience in a store management role within a retail/FMCG store environment or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme

  • Essential: Financial management experience, including budgeting, profit and loss statements, and financial ratios

Job Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • In-depth understanding and application of financial management principles

  • Strong background in retail/FMCG, with an understanding of merchandising and promotions

  • Knowledge of stock management, cost control, risk management, and compliance procedures

  • Expertise in customer service excellence and its application in the store environment

  • Knowledge of labor legislation and industrial relations practices

  • Familiarity with competency-based interviewing and effective employee management

  • Strong managerial and leadership skills

  • Results-oriented with the ability to drive performance

  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Problem-solving abilities and adaptability

  • Excellent customer orientation and communication skills
