Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Store Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the store, ensuring service excellence by leading and directing the store operations team to meet sales, profit, and compliance targets. This role contributes to gaining a competitive advantage for the brand.

Job Objectives:

  • Achieve financial performance by driving and maximizing sales, tracking daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets, and proactively taking action as required.

  • Manage and control all operational activities, including expenses, stock management, shrinkage, housekeeping, and administration.

  • Ensure successful in-store execution of visual merchandising, maintaining in-store presentation and promotional standards to align with the brand image.

  • Select, lead, and develop motivated employees to build capacity and capability to meet current and future business needs.

  • Schedule staff in line with the Group’s labor policy and the relevant labor model to ensure each department is appropriately staffed.

  • Attend to all administrative responsibilities efficiently, ensuring weekly time and attendance and employee records are complete and submitted to HR.

  • Execute customer service initiatives and take corrective action to drive a great customer experience, customer loyalty, and achieve club card participation targets.

  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders (center managers, suppliers, DC’s) to achieve business objectives and maximize opportunities.

  • Monitor customer trends, demographics, needs, and local competitors to capitalize on opportunities.

  • Drive cohesion between store operations, pharmacy, and clinic teams.

  • Foster a high-performing business culture that delivers employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and shareholder value.

  • Support the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer by living and driving company values.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%)

  • Essential: B. Degree or Diploma in retail/finance management, pharmacy, or related field (for external applicants)

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a store management role within a retail/FMCG environment or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme

  • Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)

Job Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Sound understanding and application of financial management principles

  • Strong retail/FMCG background with an understanding of merchandising and promotions

  • Knowledge of stock, cost, risk, and compliance management procedures

  • Customer service excellence knowledge

  • Knowledge of labor legislation and industrial relations practices

  • Knowledge of competency-based interviewing

  • Strong managerial skills
