Job Description:

As the Store Manager at Buco, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations to ensure profitability and exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Manage Profitability: Drive store profitability by managing expenses, maximizing sales, and achieving financial targets.
  2. Planning and Budgeting: Develop and implement effective plans and budgets to guide store operations.
  3. Procurement, Stock Control, and Merchandising: Oversee procurement, stock control, and merchandising to ensure optimal inventory levels and product displays.
  4. Stock Variance Management: Maintain and manage stock variances to ensure inventory accuracy.
  5. Financial Management: Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  6. Customer Service: Ensure the highest level of customer service, addressing customer needs and concerns promptly.
  7. Day-to-Day Operations: Take accountability for the smooth running of daily store operations.
  8. Operational Analysis: Conduct regular operational analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  9. People Management: Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing team, ensuring all staff are motivated and skilled.
  10. Legislative Compliance and Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and adherence to corporate governance standards.
  11. Company Values: Uphold and promote the company’s values and culture in all aspects of store management.

Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12; preferably a bachelor’s degree in commerce or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Financial or Management diploma.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of retail experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a junior to mid-level management position.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in a related industry is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong financial acumen, logistics/procurement skills, and knowledge of merchandising principles.
  • Additional Knowledge: Preferably familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
