Buco Vacancies – Store Manager – BUCO Vasco

Job Overview:
BUCO Vasco is seeking an experienced and driven Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, ensure profitability, and lead the team to success. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the store, including sales growth, financial management, stock control, and customer service, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Profitability Management: Drive the store’s growth and profitability by managing costs, maximizing sales turnover, and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Planning and Budgeting: Collaborate with the Operations Executive and Regional Operations Manager to interpret business objectives into an operating plan.
  • Procurement and Stock Control: Ensure smooth inward logistics, procure products in line with company policies, maintain optimal stock levels, and control stock losses.
  • Stock Variance Maintenance: Maintain optimal stock levels to minimize variances.
  • Financial Management: Compile and adhere to the store’s budget, ensuring that all financial processes are controlled and aligned with company procedures.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Handle customer complaints effectively and ensure promotions and public relations efforts enhance the brand’s market presence.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, including administration, sales, and service, and manage the branch staff.
  • Operational Analysis: Analyze operational data to identify areas of success and address problem areas, working with the Operations Management Support Team to resolve issues.
  • People Management: Inspire, develop, and lead the team to meet store objectives, maintaining a positive work environment in line with company policies.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure legal compliance with business operations and take appropriate action on legal matters.
  • Company Values: Uphold and promote the company’s values and culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Preferably a Commerce bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Financial or Management diploma (preferred)
  • 5-10 years of retail experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in a junior-mid management role
  • Industry-related experience (preferred)
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Knowledge of inwards and outwards logistics/procurement
  • Understanding of merchandising principles
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (advantageous)
