Job Description:
BUCO is seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to lead our Kathu branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving store profitability, managing operations, and ensuring exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage Profitability: Ensure continuous growth and profitability by managing costs and maximizing sales turnover and returns. Identify new business opportunities, take calculated risks, and generate innovative ideas to boost sales.
  • Planning and Budgeting: Work with the Operations Executive and Regional Operations Manager to translate business objectives into an actionable Operating Plan for the store.
  • Procurement, Stock Control, and Merchandising: Ensure smooth inward logistics, purchase products according to procurement policies, and maintain optimal stock levels while controlling stock losses.
  • Maintain Stock Variances: Keep stock levels at optimal levels and monitor variances.
  • Financial Management: Compile and adhere to the store’s budget, ensuring all financial processes follow best practices and company procedures.
  • Customer Service: Handle customer complaints efficiently, coordinate promotions and advertising, and enhance the store’s brand presence in the market.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee daily store operations, including administration, sales, customer service, and managing branch employees.
  • Operational Analysis: Analyze operational data to identify success areas and resolve issues with support from the Operations Management Team.
  • People Management: Lead, motivate, and develop the store team to achieve store objectives while maintaining a positive working environment.
  • Legislative Compliance and Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies, addressing legal matters as required.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce or equivalent experience preferred
  • Financial or Management diploma is advantageous
  • 5-10 years of retail experience
  • At least 3 years in a junior to mid-level management position
  • Industry-related experience is preferred
  • Strong financial acumen and logistics/procurement skills
  • Knowledge of merchandising principles
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act is a plus
