Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic Store Manager to lead our BUCO store in George. The Store Manager will be responsible for ensuring profitability, driving growth, and maintaining seamless operations. You will oversee financial management, stock control, customer service, and people management while upholding company values and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Profitability: Ensure store growth, profitability, and cost management. Identify new business opportunities, take calculated risks, and implement innovative strategies to maximize sales.
- Planning and Budgeting: Work with the Operations Executive and Regional Operations Manager to translate business objectives into an Operating Plan for the store.
- Procurement, Stock Control, and Merchandising: Ensure smooth inward logistics, align product procurement with company policies, maintain optimal stock levels, and control stock losses.
- Maintain Stock Variances: Manage and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Financial Management: Compile and adhere to store budgets in line with operating plans. Monitor and control financial processes.
- Customer Service: Address and resolve customer complaints effectively. Coordinate promotions, advertising, and public relations to boost market share.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Manage the overall operations, administration, customer sales, and branch staff.
- Operational Analysis: Analyze operational data to identify problem areas or successes, implement solutions, and work with the Operations Management Support Team.
- People Management: Lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve store objectives. Apply company policies to ensure a harmonious working environment.
- Legislative Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal and corporate governance requirements, addressing any legal matters as necessary.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Financial or Management diploma (preferred).
- 5-10 years of retail experience.
- Minimum 3 years in a junior-to-mid-level management role.
- Industry-related experience.
- Strong financial acumen and knowledge of logistics/procurement.
- Understanding of merchandising principles.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (preferred).
