Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a dedicated Store Cleaner for our Berea Pharmacy in East London. As a Store Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment throughout the store, including the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen. Your work will be essential to upholding Dis-Chem’s high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness across the store and communal areas, including the canteen and restrooms.
• Implement cleaning routines to ensure the store remains clean and tidy throughout the day.
• Ensure restrooms and the canteen are fully stocked with necessary supplies.
• Be available during operational hours to address any cleaning needs that arise.
• Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment for specific tasks.
• Ensure safety precautions, like placing “wet floor” signs when mopping, are always in place.
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, assisting them when needed.
• Follow Health and Safety Regulations in all cleaning tasks.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• At least 6 months of cleaning experience
• Good command of the English language
• Basic customer service skills
• Willingness to work retail hours

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual proficiency
• Previous experience in retail store cleaning
