Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a dedicated Store Cleaner to join our team at Cavendish Square in Claremont on a fixed-term contract. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the entire store, meeting Dis-Chem’s high hygiene standards. This includes the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout the store, including communal areas, before and during store hours.
• Implement cleaning routines to keep the store clean and neat at all times.
• Ensure the canteen and restrooms are kept clean and adequately stocked with necessary supplies.
• Be available during operational hours to handle cleaning tasks as needed.
• Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment for specific cleaning jobs.
• Ensure “wet floor” signs are placed in visible locations when mopping to maintain safety.
• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when assisting customers.
• Follow all Health and Safety Regulations during cleaning duties.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• At least 6 months of cleaning experience
• Good command of the English language
• Basic customer service skills
• Willingness to work retail hours

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual proficiency
• Prior experience in retail store cleaning
