Job Description
The Store Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager by overseeing daily operations and ensuring that company standards are met. This role involves managing staff, maintaining store procedures, and driving sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Banking: Handle financial transactions and ensure accurate banking of money.
  • Store Management: Relieve the Store Manager during their absence and support the overall management of the store.
  • Standards Maintenance: Uphold company standards of housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all company procedures and policies.
  • Staff Management: Assist in managing and developing staff to achieve store goals.
  • Front-End Controls: Ensure proper front-end operations and controls are in place.
  • Cash Office Oversight: Oversee cash office operations to ensure accuracy and security.
  • Stock Loss Prevention: Implement strategies to minimize stock loss and manage inventory effectively.
  • Customer Service: Drive customer satisfaction by introducing sales initiatives and maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics an advantage) or NQF Level 4.
  • Previous experience in managing people and departments.
  • Prior experience in clothing retail is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Effective decision-making, planning, and leadership abilities.
  • Enthusiastic, ethical, and self-motivated with a proactive approach.
