Job Description
As a Store Assistant Manager at Mr Price, you’ll support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations and ensuring that all company standards are met. You’ll play a key role in managing staff, maintaining store presentation, and driving sales initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Banking: Handle cash management and banking tasks efficiently.
- Manager Relief: Step in for the Store Manager during their absence, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Standards Maintenance: Uphold high standards in housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all company procedures and policies.
- Staff Management: Assist in managing, training, and developing store staff.
- Front-End Controls: Implement and monitor front-end controls to optimize store operations.
- Cash Office Oversight: Oversee cash office operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Stock Loss Prevention: Implement strategies to minimize stock loss and maximize store profitability.
- Customer Service: Drive customer service initiatives and introduce sales strategies to achieve store targets.
Qualifications
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4.
- Experience: Prior experience in managing people and departments, with a strong preference for clothing retail experience.
- Skills: Excellent communication, administrative, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Attributes: Enthusiastic, ethical, and possessing great integrity. Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of leading a team effectively.
