Dischem Vacancies – Store Admin Manager
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a dedicated Store Admin Manager to join our Benmore store. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of administrative policies and procedures in line with Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures. You will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the profitability and smooth operation of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Store Manager with daily operations to ensure optimal functioning of the store.
- Oversee the management of goods in transit and ensure compliance with Dis-Chem procedures.
- Assist in managing branch shrinkage and consumables expenses to meet store objectives.
- Supervise and manage human resource processes, including workforce management, within the business unit.
- Ensure effective implementation of the company’s performance management systems.
- Manage the cash office, including daily takings, and maintain transaction integrity throughout the store.
- Oversee cashier service levels, ensuring high productivity and compliance with internal controls.
- Manage goods receiving and credits functions, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Assist with budget preparation and maintain budgetary controls within the store.
- Promote customer loyalty by encouraging new signups and providing excellent customer service.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12/Matric
- At least 3 years of retail experience in receiving, front shop operations, customer service, HR management, and store administration
- At least 2 years of management experience with a staff complement of around 8
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Willingness to work retail hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Financial/Administration/Retail/Business Management
- Experience with SAP and retail operating systems
Core Competencies:
- Strong retail administration and management skills, including cash handling, till operations, and customer service
- Excellent command of the English language
- Basic financial skills (GP, mark-up, VAT, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and time management
- Effective interaction with suppliers, management, reps, and staff
Additional Skills:
- Basic industrial relations (IR) and management training
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Leadership abilities
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Willingness to work retail hours
- Local travel may be required; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are essential
- South African citizenship
