Buco Vacancies – Stock Controller – TimberCity Brackenfell

Job Overview:
BUCO is looking for a detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our team in Brackenfell. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock levels, ensuring stock accuracy, and optimizing stock processes to meet the business’s needs. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient stock control and minimizing stock-related risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check reports and monitor stock performance
  • Manage and process supplier returns
  • Maintain accurate bin locations and ensure stock is correctly stored
  • Investigate and resolve stock variances, including negative stock clearance
  • Oversee and participate in regular stock takes
  • Run no-stock/no-demand reports and deletion reports
  • Ensure all existing stock is properly binned
  • Validate cycle counter updates and stock variances
  • Investigate bad-risk stock and ensure timely clearance
  • Provide stock variance data to operators for 8-week cycle analysis

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in stock control
  • Alternatively, a Certificate in Retailing (NQF 5) or Retail Operations Management (NQF 5)
  • If no certificate, at least 3 of the following skills programs are required:
    • Understanding factors that impact the bottom line in wholesale/retail
    • Supervising stock counts and implementing loss control measures
    • Replenishing and managing stock holding in a retail environment
    • Receiving, picking, moving, and maintaining stock in a distribution center
    • Counting stock for stock-take and dispatching stock from a distribution center

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in managing stock reports and identifying variances
