Purpose of the Job
As a Stock Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing stock management processes to ensure optimal stock levels within the Distribution Centre. You will implement stock control strategies, monitor cycle counts, and achieve stock take results. Additionally, you will prevent damages, ensure stock is not held unnecessarily, and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and best warehouse practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee staff to ensure productivity, ensuring that supervisors’ instructions are followed.
• Manage storage capacity within the designated department.
• Ensure adherence to FIFO (First-In-First-Out) system.
• Monitor inventory discrepancies and take appropriate action (Stock Investigations).
• Conduct daily cycle counts and maintain stock accuracy.
• Ensure no stock is held unnecessarily.
• Implement bi-annual stock takes and ensure all stock take preparations are in place for efficient counting.
• Ensure staff compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and warehouse best practices.

Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 12 qualification.

Experience

• Previous experience in a similar environment is an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Computer literate (G Suite).
• Strong aptitude for numbers and attention to detail.
• Pharmaceutical product knowledge is an added advantage.
