Role Purpose:
As the Social Media Manager, you’ll lead the development and execution of Ackermans’ social media strategy, aligning it with our commercial and marketing goals. This role focuses on content creation, managing a talented team, analyzing performance metrics, and collaborating with key departments to ensure a cohesive brand presence across all digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Social Media Strategy Development and Execution:
- Craft and execute a cross-platform social media strategy for channels like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
- Align social media goals with Ackermans’ CFE, Commercial, CLVM, and Digital Marketing objectives
- Integrate social strategies with promotional schedules and content plans
2. Content Creation and Management:
- Oversee the development of platform-specific, engaging content in partnership with ATL, PR, and buying teams
- Lead social-only campaigns, ensuring timely content delivery
- Work with in-house teams and external agencies to deliver compelling social media content
3. Team and Financial Management:
- Manage budgets, team resources, and performance
- Handle stakeholder relationships and foster talent development within the team
4. Performance Analysis and Optimization:
- Use tools like Brandwatch and Salesforce to monitor and analyze social performance, generating actionable insights
- Collaborate with Customer Insights for deeper analytics to understand audience behavior
- Continuously improve campaign effectiveness through data-driven recommendations
5. Industry Trends and Innovation:
- Stay updated on emerging social media trends and tools, presenting quarterly recommendations for strategic innovations
- Share insights with the business to ensure our social media efforts remain cutting-edge
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Grade 12/Matric and a National Diploma/Degree in Marketing or a related field
Preferred:
- Additional qualification in digital marketing
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication and creative content skills
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented approach
- In-depth understanding of social algorithms and platform best practices
- Proficient in analytics and reporting tools, including Brandwatch and Salesforce
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead a team, and foster a collaborative environment
Experience Required:
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in social media strategy
- At least 2 years’ management experience in marketing, including team leadership
- Proven success in executing multi-channel social media campaigns
Preferred:
- Experience within the retail or clothing industry
