Pep Vacancies – Skills Development Officer
Purpose of the Job:
The Skills Development Officer will be responsible for initiating, driving, and implementing skills development initiatives across the company. This role aligns with the company’s Skills Development and BEE plan, ensuring employees receive relevant training and development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementation of Skills Development Programs:
Assist in the roll-out and management of various skills development initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives. - Learner Certification & Program Close-out:
Oversee learner certification processes and ensure successful completion and close-out of development programs. - Relationship Management:
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including SETAs, training providers, and internal teams. - Ad Hoc Responsibilities:
Perform additional tasks related to skills development as required.
Job Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in HR (Training and Development) or Retail Management (Essential).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HR or retail management.
- Experience in training and development is advantageous.
- Prior experience in Skills Development facilitation is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office and/or Google Suite.
- Strong administrative abilities with a high level of numerical literacy.
- Knowledge of SETA funding processes and accredited program delivery (e.g., learnerships, internships, skills programs).
- Valid Code 8 Driver’s License and willingness to travel within South Africa.

- Strong organizational sensitivity, integrity, and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Results-oriented with excellent planning, drive, and personal development skills.
- Effective in providing feedback and creating support systems.
- Ability to independently attend external skills development engagements.
