Signal Management Technician – Cape Town

Reporting to: Signal Management Team Leader

Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Signal Management Technician will be responsible for installing electronic equipment for the security industry at commercial and industrial premises, ensuring that systems function effectively.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Matric or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience as an Electronic Security Technician
• Experience with programming, wiring, installations, and fault finding

Job Requirements & Other Attributes:

• Valid Code 08 driver’s license is essential
• PSIRA Grade C registration required
• Basic understanding of electronics
• Knowledge of DSC, IDS, and PARADOX systems
• Ability to troubleshoot existing equipment and conduct servicing
• Ability to work standby when required

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Program systems according to specifications
• Plan cable runs with the wireman
• Obtain customer codes before attending calls, daily and during standby shifts
• Complete handovers and job cards after each installation
• Provide feedback to Manager, Supervisor, and Call Centre after completing a call
• Keep stock updated and assist the storeman with stocktaking
• Maintain cleanliness of the company vehicle
• Submit petrol slips
