Job Purpose:
Ackermans is seeking an energetic Shop Assistant/Cashier in Mpumalanga. The main goal of this role is to deliver excellent customer service, maintain a high standard on the sales floor, and support the store’s daily operations. As a Shop Assistant/Cashier, you will play a vital part in enhancing the shopping experience for our customers by managing transactions efficiently, upholding store presentation, and supporting sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for every customer.
• Manage cash transactions accurately, following all cashier procedures.
• Support the store’s sales goals by actively engaging with customers and promoting products.
• Help maintain a well-organized and visually appealing store layout.
• Monitor and maintain stock levels on the sales floor.
• Assist in managing shrinkage and controlling costs.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and store standards.
• Contribute to a positive team atmosphere, promoting company values.

Minimum Requirements:

• Friendly, energetic self-starter with a customer-focused attitude.
• Previous retail experience is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in an additional South African language is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team and independently.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash and following procedures.
• Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
