Are you a high-energy, self-motivated individual with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service? Ackermans is seeking a Shop Assistant to join our dynamic retail team. In this role, you’ll ensure a superior shopping experience through effective stock management, merchandising, and efficient transaction processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Deliver exceptional service to enhance the shopping experience.
- Assist customers in locating products and address any queries or complaints.
- Cashier Duties:
- Accurately process cash and card payments.
- Manage lay-bys and customer refunds.
- Report discrepancies to the supervisor and maintain till balance.
- Merchandising:
- Ensure stock is properly priced and attractively displayed.
- Maintain product availability on the sales floor.
- Perform housekeeping duties and stay updated on promotions.
- Risk Management:
- Ensure all products are tagged according to company policy.
- Participate in stock takes and monitor for shoplifting or fraud, reporting any suspicious activity to management.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (fluent in English; additional languages are a plus).
- High energy levels and strong motivation to achieve targets.
- Previous retail experience is advantageous.
