Are you a high-energy, self-motivated individual with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service? Ackermans is seeking a Shop Assistant to join our dynamic retail team. In this role, you’ll ensure a superior shopping experience through effective stock management, merchandising, and efficient transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service:
    • Deliver exceptional service to enhance the shopping experience.
    • Assist customers in locating products and address any queries or complaints.
  2. Cashier Duties:
    • Accurately process cash and card payments.
    • Manage lay-bys and customer refunds.
    • Report discrepancies to the supervisor and maintain till balance.
  3. Merchandising:
    • Ensure stock is properly priced and attractively displayed.
    • Maintain product availability on the sales floor.
    • Perform housekeeping duties and stay updated on promotions.
  4. Risk Management:
    • Ensure all products are tagged according to company policy.
    • Participate in stock takes and monitor for shoplifting or fraud, reporting any suspicious activity to management.
  5. Company Values:
    • Uphold Ackermans’ values, policies, and procedures in every aspect of your work.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (fluent in English; additional languages are a plus).
  • High energy levels and strong motivation to achieve targets.
  • Previous retail experience is advantageous.
